OMG Nerf the TOMBS
I read thread after thread of people complaining about smite builds or IWAY or whatever is the newest build that starts to dominate.
But the problem isn't the builds - its the TOMBS
You see, for most people you have 2 choices - accept a blind invite and die in the first round, or make a build that everybody is familiar with so you have a fighting chance to win some rounds.
Now add to that the fact that even building a team everybody knows can take 30-60 minutes sometimes. Imagine if you invented a new build, how are you going to get enough people interested in your idea to even try it?
Several months ago I tried to "invent" a smiting build based around Zealots fire, but it didn't use the "OMG NERF" Ether renewal engine - it was 8 smiting monks all spamming zealots and Balthazar's Aura on whoever was near the enemy. It took at least an hour to find all the monks, half of them didn't have all the skills, we had to compromise on some of their builds, and then when we got in some other 12 year old kid on the TS server took over and started shouting orders to people telling them to do something different that was not the theme of the build. We one 1 round because of the insane amount of healing we had, but then lost and half the team quit out.
Since then I don't even try to work out something new. I've been in 4 guilds now and even then it's too hard to get that many like minded people willing to try something new. As a result I have almost 600 hours in game and am only rank 1 because it's just too hard to get anything going other than FOTM.
Something needs to be done about the tombs, but I don't know what. It's just too annoying trying to get a good team together and I don't have hours to wasted sitting around looking for the right people.
BTW - any high ranked guilds out there that have a good discussion forum that will accept 6 dedicated PvP players? We need to move guilds again.

Theres only one thing i can think of to help team selection.
Some kind of menu listing all the players in district by profession, Where you can click on their name to send a message or invite them.
Unless im missing something, the way it is done now is to hold Ctrl and scan all the players visually to find who your looking for.

It is really hard to get a specific team together.. i was with someone trying to try out a 4 man build that seemed pretty interesting. We each made a Me/Mo's with Infuse health, echo, and illusion of weakness.. then we had a Me/Mo with high fast casting to rez us after we killed ourselves, and a necro to make bone fiends before he rezzed us. Rinse and repeat.
took us like an hour to find all the people.. i didnt even work all that well.. the rezmer wasnt too snappy.

Get a proper guild. That should fix your problem.
Iway can be beaten so can smite.

Notice the words "proper" its nearly impossible to find a good guild without being R3+ and how do you suggest to get one without being R3 or higher?Even Ive found some good guilds but I haven't found one that stayed together,it just fell apart eventully

Pls god no not a menu with all the names of those in a district, the amount of random invites would blow through the roof

Any guild that recruits based on rank is not a good guild.
You can find decent guilds that are smart enough not to recruit based on rank.

guilds that recruit purely through rank are purely elitist. Guilds should be about friendship, not who can sit in TotPK all day long spamming LFG till they go blue in the face. Rank can be earned simply through persistence and time, you don't need skill to get it, skill simply allows you to earn it faster.

Uh, rank is a good way to gauge someone's experience. It means they know what to expect from the different levels in tombs, know some tricks, have probably dabbled in GvG, etc. Don't downplay it, of course it isn't the end-all-be-all of Guildwars, but having a rule where you only recruit rank 3+ people is a wise choice for some guilds.
